What the quote includes

Every ExpressBox quote is prepared by a person for your specific shipment, not generated from a fixed table. Depending on the lane and service you choose, it covers:

  • Pickup from your address
  • Export customs documentation
  • Express air freight on your lane
  • Import customs clearance at the destination
  • Delivery to the recipient's door

Destination duties and taxes are estimated in the quote where they apply, and shown as a separate line, so you can see the landed cost before you book. The final amount is set by the destination customs authority at clearance.

We quote express air on the lanes we run: India to the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and China; the United States to India and the UAE; and China to India and the UAE. For any other route, choose Other as the destination and we will tell you whether we can carry it.

How pricing works

Express air shipments are priced on chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight of the parcel. Volumetric weight is the standard express formula:

Volumetric weight (kg) = length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5000

For example, a 40 × 30 × 20 cm box is 24,000 ÷ 5000 = 4.8 kg volumetric. If it weighs 3 kg on the scale, it is charged at 4.8 kg; if it weighs 6 kg, it is charged at 6 kg. Light but bulky items are therefore priced on their size, so measure the box as well as weighing it. Your quote also reflects the lane, the service you choose and any special handling the goods need.

Business and B2B express shipping quotes

For international express business shipping, choose Business / recurring shipments as the service type and tell us roughly how many shipments you send a month and the typical weight. We reply with a rate quote for your lanes and the paperwork each lane needs, rather than a one-off price.

Recurring export and import lanes from India, and cross-trade shipments between the USA, China and the UAE, are quoted the same way: chargeable weight, service and lane, with duties and taxes estimated for the destination.

Before you ship

Check the prohibited and restricted items list first. Hazardous materials, perishables, currency and several other categories cannot be carried on any lane, and some items need extra paperwork.
